Local Authorities & Social Workers

GYM seeks to empower professionals to be the best support they can be for the young people in their area.

We are an evidence-based service which utilises proven strategies to prevent youth violence at a community and societal level as well as on an individual level. This can involve providing resources and training tools to help communities address risk and implement protective factors when faced with anti-social behaviour and violence.

Training and Presentations

Training and presentations are available and can be delivered to both local authority and social worker teams and referrals can be made for mentoring individual young people who are under the care of Children’s Services. Once a referral is agreed we aim to work closely with assigned social workers to support each youngster.

Understanding the root causes of violence is key to being able to help young people

We believe that it’s essential to understand the root causes of the violence and other problematic behaviour that a given individual may be demonstrating, and the factors that put children and adolescents at risk of such behaviour. Working together with you on the basis of this understanding, we seek to help transform young people’s lives and futures.

We truly believe that no young person is:

" IN TOO DEEP TO MAKE A CHANGE "

And We want to support the young people you work with to make that change happen.

As they succeed we will support them and empower them to share their story with others, helping other young people to see that change is possible. All it takes is for one person to believe in change to grow that change in a community!
