Schools

Collaboration with schools is central to all the work delivered by Guiding Young Minds.

We accept referrals for one-to-one mentoring from both junior and senior schools, if staff are concerned about a young person’s behaviour and consider that they may be at risk of joining a gang or becoming involved in criminal activity. Once we accept a referral, we work closely with school staff to support the young person, attending meetings and also supporting parents as deemed necessary.

The GYM Team also visits schools to provide presentations

The GYM Team also visits schools to provide presentations, drama and workshops, all aimed at increasing awareness and understanding of gangs and knife crime. We are very open to discussion with schools about their particular needs and how we can best support including tailoring programmes in response to these needs. Please contact us to be sent our workshops programme or to discuss your school’s specific needs.

We truly believe that no young person is:

" IN TOO DEEP TO MAKE A CHANGE "

And We want to support the young people you work with to make that change happen.

As they succeed we will support them and empower them to share their story with others, helping other young people to see that change is possible. All it takes is for one person to believe in change to grow that change in a community!
